Spring holidays are just around the corner! Time to plan your stay at Camping Fleur de Brière, which has just opened its doors. Take advantage of this season with fewer crowds to enjoy plenty of activities around Saint-Lyphard. Regardless of the weather, we have many backup plans to offer you in Loire-Atlantique:
In the immediate vicinity of Saint-Lyphard, explore the charming historic village of Kerhinet during a stroll, where lovely small stone houses are nestled. Immerse yourself in nature with a discovery of the Brière National Park aboard typical boats. Explore the canals that form a natural labyrinth with a relaxing atmosphere. (Information available at the campsite reception)
Just 10 minutes away is Guérande and its famous citadel. Dive into the medieval atmosphere with the opportunity to walk along the ramparts and explore the narrow alleys with their unique shops. Craving freedom? Les Trottes de l’ouest will accompany you outside the citadel to explore the salt marshes using original and highly secure scooters.
If the call of the sea beckons, Saint-Nazaire opens its doors and promises a briny walk along its renovated embankment. Nearby, you'll find a café, a skatepark, and the submarine base where you can visit a real submarine. On sunny days, there's nothing better than a paddle outing with Lineup, which will take you to discover the coastal trails from the sea and enjoy an activity as a couple or with the family.
For an authentic stay, a visit to Le Pouliguen, just a 25-minute drive away, is a must. Its small town and marina will allow you to get some fresh air and savor local specialties: seafood, pancakes, crepes, cider, and samphire. It's also a small city focused on culture where you can visit the free Rex museum in the city center and the more contemporary Bernard Boesh museum, worth a visit on rainy days.
On the other side of the Loire, we recommend stopping at Saint-Brévin Les Pins or L'Océan. These two neighborhoods in the heart of the pine trees have that holiday atmosphere reminiscent of Les Landes. Facing the estuary, the more athletic can indulge in kitesurfing. Families, on the other hand, can have fun exploring the small streets driving Rosalies, those famous multi-seater cycles.
Finally, if you're an explorer at heart and eager for curiosity, Nantes is the city to include in your itinerary. This human-sized metropolis is full of modern and historical curiosities that have made it famous. On the Isle of Nantes, immerse yourself in the spirit of Jules Verne and his stories by visiting the Machines of the Isle Museum, and why not end the day riding an elephant! If you're a fan of architecture, Passage Pommeray, Place Bouffay, and the Decré district remain must-visit places.
